Nancy Kwan was one of the first Asian-American actresses to succeed in Western cinema. She played a major role in the accepting and promotion of Asians in the film world. Her career started with playing the title character of The World of Suzie Wong, and she went on to star in dozens of films. As someone who doesn't quite believe in retirement and thinks you should do what you want while you can, Nancy Kwan is still very active today. In addition to producing films and practicing yoga, she has become a spokesperson for the Asian-American Voters Coalition and helped promote Asian-American participation in politics. She recently received the Lifetime Achievement Award from MOCA at their annual Legacy Awards Gala
